Get Geek’d Expo 2019 This Weekend

Get Geek'd Expo comiccon lansing 2019

My comic show adventures bring me back to Lansing this weekend for Get Geek’d Expo at the Lansing Center. This is my second year at this show, and I’m always happy to do a local show, especially one that is a short drive from home.

Speaking of local shows, my next local comic show is Capital City Comic Con over in East Lansing in September at the Breslin Center.

Where and When is Get Geek’d Expo?

All of the action takes place inside the Lansing Center, found right in downtown Lansing. You can’t miss the place, but here’s the address: 333 E Michigan Ave, Lansing, Michigan 48933. Keep in mind, there are multiple “rooms” inside the Lansing Center, and Get Geek’d Expo is just using one. It should be pretty easy to spot though, just follow all of the cosplayers.

The show is two days, Saturday July 27th and Sunday July 28th. Hours are 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday.

What Am I Selling at This Weekend?

Because it is a comic show, I’m not planning on selling any original art (I’m saving that for Brighton Main Street Wine Art Music Festival next weekend). I will have plenty of cartoon prints for sale though, as well as the Foxes & Boxes book. I’m also selling cartoon greeting cards, and I’ll be doing my Mashup Cartoons (you roll the dice and I draw the mashup).

However, in mid-August at ArtFeast in Old Town, I’m basically selling *everything*: original art, prints, and books.

Over this season and last, I’ve learned what sells best at certain shows. My original art sells better at art festivals, and prints do better at comic shows. Plus, most art festivals have rules about what kind of art I can sell (especially when it comes to prints, or “reproductions”). So, I save my originals for art shows, and books/prints for comic shows (at least for now, I’m definitely looking into having high quality “reproductions” for next season at certain art shows).

Anyway! Come on out to Get Geek’d Expo this weekend!
