The 100 Day Project is a creative challenge held every year on Instagram. You pick a project and work on it for 100 days in a row.
For 2018, I decided I would make a random watercolor shape and turn it into a cartoon, for 100 days in a row. This is mainly for Instagram, but I share them elsewhere too. I sell the cartoons, which are all 4″ x 6″, in person at appearances (like the 2018 East Lansing Art Festival) and in my Etsy Shop. Each cartoon is sold in an 8″ x 10″ mat and is ready for framing in a standard frame.
Here is a sample of some of my cartoons for 2018. Remember: they all started as a random watercolor shape, then I turned them into a cartoon. I don’t plan ahead what the cartoon will be and don’t overthink it. I just got with my first instinct.
