The end is in sight! My One Crazy Summer is nearly over, as this weekend brings my last multiple-day art festival of 2019: the Brighton Main Street Wine Art Music Festival. That’s not to say I couldn’t add something later, but at the moment my remaining events are one day only, and (thankfully) spaced pretty far apart (next up is ArtFeast in Old Town on the 17th, followed by Capital City Comic Con on September 21st. More than a month between events?! Crazy!).
Will I try to do as many events next summer? Probably not. Hopefully not so many in a row at least (this is my FIFTH weekend in a row with an event).
This season, only my second doing art festivals, was all about trying new shows and to see what I liked. I learned a lot this season, both when it comes to art festivals and comic conventions. My 2020 season could look very different after I crunch all of the data, notes, and numbers
Anyway, let’s wind my season down with a bang.
Where and When is the Brighton Main Street Wine Art Music Festival?
This event marks my first three day art festival of the season, although Friday isn’t so much of a “day” as it is “three hours”, akin to a “preview night” at a comic convention. But whatever! That’s still three hours I have to hustle.
The days and times for the Brighton Main Street Wine Art Music Festival are:
- Friday, August 2nd 5 PM – 8 PM
- Saturday, August 3rd 10 AM – 8 PM
- Sunday, August 4th 10 AM – 4 PM
So, yeah. I’m in for a long haul on Saturday.
The location, as the name implies, is Main Street in Brighton, Michigan. You can’t miss the art festival. Just head for downtown Brighton and look for the crowds. There are a few sections to the festival, and I’m in the middle section, the “Fine Art District.” I’m booth #222 on Main Street between West Street and Hyne. The Fine Art District is the middle of everything, right between the “Vintage Market” and the “Straight From the Studios” sections.
What Am I Selling This Weekend?
Original art! This includes some new pieces I just whipped up, which are more Found Cartoons and some cat cartoons (using Inktober prompts from 2016). I’ll of course have my remaining 100 Day Project watercolor cartoons, my Monster Portraits, and the larger framed Found Cartoons.
