Found Cartoons is my 2019 watercolor cartoon series. Each piece started as a random watercolor shape, and then I made it into a cartoon.
Unlike the similar cartoons for my 2018 (and 2019) 100 Day Project, I went back and added more paint to enhance the image. I only layered on top of existing shapes, I didn’t change the shape of the image. I did this to add more depth to the color and make it look like more of a polished image.
The series contains 19 pieces, and includes sizes at 5″ x 7″, 8″ x 10″, 12″ x 18″, and 18″ x 24″. These pieces premiered at my first solo exhibition, which was held at the Arts Council of Greater Lansing offices in Lansing’s Old Town.
