T-shirt weather is almost here (I hope), and you can order a new t-shirt I designed for this year’s Mighty Uke Day! A quick note: I just did the cartoon critters you see above, I didn’t design the MUD logo.
Mighty Uke Day 9
Mighty Uke Day is an event held in Lansing’s Old Town, with 2019 being the ninth year.
T-shirt sales, and the event itself, help raise money for ukulele programs at schools, libraries, and more in Michigan. You can order a t-shirt or a long sleeve shirt with my design via the Mighty Uke Day site.
If you want to help even more, there is a fundraiser event on March 24th at Lansing Brewing Company. At the event, there is a silent auction, and you can bid on a new original, watercolor cartoon I did.
Mighty Uke Day 9 is May 10 – 12 in Lansing’s Old Town. If you are a ukulele fan, swing on by to partake in some four-string fun. There are concerts, workshops, and more all weekend long.
Save the Date: Found Cartoons Opening Reception – April 5th
Don’t forget: on Friday, April 5th there is an opening reception for my exhibit, Found Cartoons. I’m exhibiting a brand new series of watercolor shape cartoons. Each piece started as a random watercolor shape, and then I turned it into a cartoon. I’m planning on displaying 19 pieces, if I have the room (if I don’t, it would be just under that amount).
This is my first solo exhibit as an artist, and a big thank you to the Arts Council of Greater Lansing for this opportunity. Please come out to the opening reception if you can. I’m bringing snacks, so bring a friend or five! The exhibit runs through all of April in the Arts Council of Greater Lansing’s office in Old Town.
