Fun news this week, as Friday brings another opening reception for Steph and I. This time we’re appearing in the Guest Artist Series at University Liggett School. Unlike last week’s holiday show at the Lansing Art Gallery, this exhibition is just Steph and I. Hooray for us!
BTW, you can buy my art available at the Lansing Art Gallery through their website.
Steph is showing off some of her Scrapscapes, and I’m displaying a selection of my Found Cartoons. If you don’t remember, my Found Cartoons start as a random paint shape, then I use ink to turn it into a cartoon. There is even a display explaining my step-by-step process when making Found Cartoons. I visited the art wing when I dropped off all of our art, and it is a lovely space. I can’t wait to see how everything looks hung on the walls.
What is the Guest Artist Series?
University of Liggett School has its own arts wing, the Manoogian Arts Wing to be specific. This allows the school to showcase different artists for the students and guests. Steph and I are excited to take part in this special opportunity. Moreso myself, as the school is minutes away from where I grew up.
Each of our pieces are for sale at the show, which runs until December 13. Since it is a school, the best opportunity to see the exhibition will probably be at the opening reception this Friday night.
Where is University Liggett School?
You can find the school at 1045 Cook Rd, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236-2509. Look for the sign on the road that says Manoogian Arts Wing, it is just a little past the school’s main entrance.
When is the Opening Reception?
Friday, November 18. It starts at 6 PM and goes until 8 PM. I believe, like at most receptions, light refreshments will be provided.
