Those darn kittehs. Or kitties for you non-LOLcats squares. They are too cute–and even cuter when sleeping. What’s better than that?
I know. Kittehs sleeping–at the Zoo. Behold! Set phasers to AWWWWW.
Yes, a sleeping African Black-Footed Cat at the John Ball Park Zoo in Grand Rapids. Cute little thing. This was shot indoors and through glass, so I’m happy it turned out as well as it did. I used the Levels tool in Photoshop to correct the colors a bit. I’m usually against using Auto features, but the Auto setting on the Levels tool works pretty great.
More after the break.
Same thing as above, just zoomed out a bit. I think I used the Curves tool on this instead of Levels tool. Can’t remember.
Another sleepy Black-Footed Cat. These shots were a good “shooting indoors” exercise. I had to keep trying out different ISOs and f-stops to get the shots I wanted. It helped these kittehs weren’t moving.
Big, sleepy kitteh. A lioness at the John Ball Park Zoo. What I like about the the JBPZ is that they have an overlooking deck at the lion exhibit. It allowed me to get this zoomed in shot without having to shoot through a fence or glass (or both!).
And here’s an old favorite. This guy can be found at the Potter Park Zoo here in Lansing. I’ve posted this before, but I figured it made for a good re-run. Shot through glass, inside.
There you have it, a fun batch of sleepy kitteh photos at the Zoo.
Tomorrow: more photos from my Attraction Lost series.
