My Eating San Francisco series continues. Check out the first installment to learn about my trip to SF this past spring.
The top photo, taken with my Sony point and shoot, was the Huevos Rancheros at Boogaloos. More photos and info after the break.
I cross processed that photo, as I wanted to make that purple stuff pop. Boogaloos is a great hipster place for food, but like Golden Harvest here in Lansing, you gotta wait while for a table. It was very much worth the wait however. I think this was my first time ever having huevos rancheros, and they were very tasty.
The girlfriend’s breakfast, equally amazing. That’s our host in the red/black Ur-Flannel in the upper left corner. Also taken with the point and shoot and cross processed. No flash for this one, hence the soft image.
Places like Boogaloos are the reason I love visiting local restaurants while on vacation. It had a lot of character! Sure, we probably waited almost an hour in the rain, but who cares? The people watching was great. I’ll tell you what, San Francisco must have a dog to person ratio of 2 to 1. EVERYONE had a dog, and in most cases two or more. Seriously, I’ve never seen that many dogs before–and they were all manner of shapes and sizes.
Tomorrow: In-n-Out Burger and a mission burrito!

Yum, looks great!
What was in that cabbage salad?
Y’know, I could not tell ya–it was tasty though! The menu on the website just says “cabbage salad.”
