I wrote about practice and routine in last week’s newsletter. They help, for sure, especially with muscle memory, in the case of drawing. Inktober is nearly over, and I’m seeing the benefit of working on drawings every day, especially before I work on my comics–they act as a good warm up. Not that I wasn’t drawing every day before Inktober. I was, but mainly quickly little sketches, nothing as planned out and finished as (some of) my Inktober drawings.
It does make me think I could crank out more comics than I do now (once a week), but, I’m not ready to increase my output. Yet. Inktober also made me think I was over-thinking my comics a bit, especially as I still work on getting used to drawing on my Surface Pro 3 and using Clip Studio Paint.
