Yes, Ginger and the Geek has come to an end.
At least for now. I will confess, I feel as if a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I loved the show, but doing it weekly was a lot of work, and Kat and I felt like we were just spinning our wheels (not really growing). What is growing, is Kat’s blog traffic, to the point where I encouraged her to go off on her own. Kat’s new website (<shameless plug>which I helped set up</shameless plug>) is gingeradorned.com. Not having to worry about producing a show, or writing additional blog posts I wasn’t happy with, is a huge relief.
Speaking of relief, The Magic of Eyri will be ending soon, as I have started editing the final episode. I’m going from two podcasts to zero in the span of a month. Ye gods!
Helping to fill the void will be a new column I am starting with The Idler, called In the Dark (Without the Guilt). It begins next month. I will write about films I consider (not so) guilty pleasures (ex: Hudson Hawk, Cabin Boy, and so on). I have been MIA on The Idler for a few months now, since In the Queue was mothballed and our latest Gamers’ Club finished, so I am eager for a return.
And Lord knows, I can talk about Hudson Hawk or Cabin Boy at length.
