A tortoise at Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, MI. And yep, it is the same one I took a photo of for the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk (but on a different day)
More details and links after the break.
I went through a few different crops/edits of this photo before I decided on this one. I like the curve of the shell, as it leads up to the tortoise’s head. Originally, I was going to crop in close and only show half of the tortoise’s face, but it didn’t feel right.
Starting tomorrow, I’m going to be posting photos from Alcatraz Prison for the rest of the week. You can see some other shots on my Flickr set, Escape to Alcatraz. Next week, the San Francisco adventures continue, with my Eating San Francisco photoblog series. Yummy stuff!
Links to my stuff!
- Monday I had a photo of an indifferent ostrich (but sadly, not an emo emu).
- Tuesday was the fourth installment of my Attraction Lost series–complete with a creepy Paul Bunyan statue.
- Wednesday was my silly attempt at a photo comic, starring a pair of Potter Park Zoo penguins.
- Also on Wednesday, an article I wrote for Capital Gains ran–it was about my moving to downtown Lansing (interesting footnote, I’m wearing my I Like Potter Park Zoo tshirt in the photo).
- And, oops, I forgot to mention the latest Magic of Eyri Podcast last week (it came out on the previous Wednesday). D’oh. There is another this Wednesday, too.
- On Thursday, I had a double-exposure shot of a camel yawning.

- Photojojo (via Conscientious) had a neat link about taking a long exposure shot while clicking through your Facebook photo albums. I don’t keep many photos on the ‘book, but I may try this with photos of my own.
