Autumn is in the air, despite my best efforts (I want a refund on that magic spell). With the cooling temps, my outdoor art festival season, such as it was this crazy year, is coming to an end. This weekend marks my final outdoor art festival for 2021: Funky Ferndale Art Fair.
Let’s Get Funky in Ferndale
This is another new festival for me (and Steph, who is again sharing my tent with me). I’m excited, because it’s a new city, with a new crowd, and it is very close to where I grew up. On a personal note, this means my family and friends in the metro Detroit area can come see me and my art (hooray!).
Look for Booth 78
You can find Steph and I in booth 78, on Nine Mile road off Woodward. To be more specific, we’re between Woodward and Allen St. on Nine Mile.
Here’s an easy way to find Funky Ferndale, plug 344 W. Nine Mile Rd, Ferndale MI 48220 into your GPS or map app.
Funky Ferndale: Three Days of Art
Funky Ferndale features extra hours on Friday. The show actually opens Friday afternoon starting at 4PM and goes until 7:30 PM. Saturday is a long day too, 10 AM to 7:30 PM. Sunday’s hours are 11 AM – 6 PM.
I figure these extra hours are to take advantage of Ferndale’s night life. So, if you see me looking a little tired, that’s why! I accept gifts of coffee, by the way.
More New Art to See
I’ll have some more new art at Funky Ferndale this weekend. Below is a photo of one of the pieces making its festival debut, along with two more.
But Wait, There’s More
While Funky Ferndale is my final outdoor art festival of 2021, it isn’t my final event of the year. Far from it.
Steph and I have an open studio day planned for Sunday, Oct. 3rd, 12 PM – 4 PM. I’ll go into more detail in next week’s newsletter, but come on down to Cedar Street Art Collective here in Lansing. You can see our studio space and shop! Whatever doesn’t sell at Funky Ferndale this weekend will be there.
