Drawing – Reverb 10 – One Word

by Daniel J. Hogan

reverb 10 prompt #1 drawing by Daniel J. HoganI signed up to take part in the Reverb 10 project — you get a different prompt each day, and you have to write about it, take a picture, or do something that relates to the prompt in some way.

Today’s prompt was:

One Word.
Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you?

2009 was a rough year, but 2010 saw me patching things up, hence “repairs.”  I hope to make a few changes in 2011, hence “upgrades.”

This was fun! I miss drawing.  I’m going to try and draw for most of the prompts, if not all.

The drawing part was fun–I just used a blue pencil.  But, the clean up in Photoshop took some work, and I did not have my WACOM with me.

But, I also didn’t want to go too crazy my first time out–I just wanted to draw and have fun.

And who doesn’t love (poorly drawn) robots?

This is great! The blue pencil slap-dashedness of this is just right for the concept.

Thanks 🙂

I have done fancy, cleaned up and colored drawings in the past, but I just wanted to get something online and not spend too long making it look pretty, at least not at first.
