Come to My Art Reception in Old Town This Saturday!

I’m the April Featured Artist at Metro Melik 517 in Lansing’s Old Town. Better still, I have an opening reception this Saturday, April 8th. The fun starts at 1PM and goes until 4PM. I will be there, and if you need more of a reason to come, I have new art. Come and see new mini canvas Found Cartoons just for this month long appearance.

Here’s hoping you can make it out this weekend and see what I have on display. There’s several pieces from my Three Panels series, a few mixed media cartoons, and even my Art Path piece PathPals.

I’ll have some prints available as well.

Some Day My Prints Will Come

Speaking of prints, I’m hard at work on a new crop of limited edition cartoon prints. These will all debut at the East Lansing Art Festival next month. That’s right: I got in for the sixth year in a row. Time flies, huh?

I plan on debuting four new limited edition (signed and numbered) prints at ELAF. I finished the first two designs, and the next two are nearly done. Each of the four designs is limited to only 100 copies each. This is my first time appearing at the East Lansing Art Festival with prints, limited or otherwise, so I’m excited to see how they do.

Don’t worry, I’m bringing the original art for these prints along with more new art.

Gettin’ Scrappy

Another first at this year’s ELAF will be my ScrapToons. I debuted these at ScrapFest last year to much acclaim. If you haven’t seen them, I have a few in my online shop at the moment. I make each ScrapToon with a page from a 1960s Encyclopedia Britannica volume–so they are even more one of a kind. I use paint pens and ink to make silly cartoons and jokes on top of the page.

I’m happy to say I’m returning to ScrapFest again this year, so expect to see a lot more ScrapToons later this summer.

More New Comics

Per my last blog post (ha, sorry) I started making comics again. You can find them at my Patreon. I’ve been enjoying making comics again, and I’m keeping it simple, but also trying to use Procreate on my iPad more. Patrons get early access, but my comics will be public and “free” later on.
