It is hard to believe, but art festival season is back. And back in force, I’ll say. This is my first full art festival season since the summer of 2019. This year, I’m kicking things off with Art Birmingham in, yes, Birmingham (Michigan). I’m bringing a lot of new art with me too, 14 new framed pieces alone.
Ten of those framed pieces are part of my Three Panels series, so it’s actually more like 30 pieces for those. Art Birmingham is a new art festival for me, and it is one of a few new shows this year.
Let’s Try Something New
Speaking of new things, I decided this year to narrow my focus when it comes to the art I bring to shows. For now, I’m only bringing Three Panels and Found Cartoons pieces. I’m looking forward to this approach, as it gives my tent a bit more focus. It’s either one or the other.
In years past, I often had all kinds of pieces. While that isn’t a bad thing, I want to see how it goes with this strategy. It certainly made producing new work for the season easier.
If you want a sneak peek at some of the new art I’m bringing, check out this blog post.
Art Birmingham is Saturday 10AM – 6PM and Sunday 10AM – 5PM. I’m in the Drawing category, and you can find me at Booth 90, which is right by City Hall.
Art Birmingham Map Time!
This isn’t the full map, just a close up of where I will be in downtown Birmingham.
