daniel j hogan comics

I write and draw all-ages humor comics for my website, clattertron.com. I started making comics in 2012 at age 30, and I publish a new comic each Monday–unless I don’t (life happens).

In 2016 I began my on-going fantasy-humor comic, Foxes & Boxes.  You can also read Foxes & Boxes on the Webtoon website and app. As of February 2019, there are over 115 pages of Foxes & Boxes comics available to read.

Please visit the portfolio pages for Foxes & Boxes and my freelance comics for additional information.

Awards

In 2016, I won a 1st Place 2015 SPACE Prize in the Webcomic Category at the Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo (SPACE).

Freelance Comics and Cartoons

Comics and cartoons of mine which have appeared in magazines and on other websites.

Chip & Dent

I created a comic strip called Chip & Dent for the magazine I-CAR Collision Reporter. The theme of the strip is “illustrating today’s biggest industry lessons.” I work with the editors of the magazine on the comic and illustrate the lesson they wish to get across to readers (essentially: they tell me the “lesson” and I base a comic on it, making changes as needed).

Foxes & Boxes

In September 2016, I started a new weekly comic story, Foxes & Boxes on clattertron.com. It is an all-ages fantasy-humor story, and my first attempt at a long-form comic with a serial story.

Read a new page every Monday! Read from the start at foxesandboxes.com.

I publish a new Foxes & Boxes page each Monday, and it is more character driven than my earlier ‘gag-a-day’ comics.

Elevator pitch: Foxes & Boxes is about two below-average adventurers for hire. They are fast and cheap, but not very good.

Pre-Foxes & Boxes Comics

From April 2012 to July 2016 my weekly comics were ‘gag a day’ style. While I made a few multi-part stories here and there, I meant for these comics to be self-contained joke strips with little to no continuity.
