My 2018 appearances schedule keeps filling up, and I’m not talking about community service either. At least not yet, the year is young after all. I’m happy to announce two new dates to see me in all three dimensions: one in April and other in May.
You can see my full schedule on my Appearances page or in the Appearances widget in the sidebar.
REO Town Marketplace April Pop Up
I’m returning to the REO Town Marketplace here in Lansing on Saturday, April 21 for their April Pop Up event. I attended another pop up market back in January, and did really well. The event kicks off at 10 AM and goes until 5 PM. Like before, there is no cost to attend. So show up! I think I heard there is a pet adoption event going on as well.
Man, I hope so! I’ll make sure to whip up some doggo and kitteh cartoons for the show. I’ll know more details closer to the day of the pop up. There was all kinds of neat vendors the last time I attended, ranging from artwork, to clothing, to body products, and more.
I love local events like this. I’m excited to be heading back to the REO Town Marketplace next month. I might try a different layout this time too. Last time, I just did my usual comic con artist alley setup. However, I actually get a 10 foot by 10 foot space, so I could do more of a booth setup with two tables.
I’m thinking like an L shape style. I’ll still be behind a table, but have a second table to display items next to me.
Yes, I have two tables. I own a pair of fold in half 6 foot tables. The folding tables are super handy, because I can easily fit them in my car. These tables were a good investment as someone who regularly appears at events. Have table, will travel.
Free Comic Book Day at The Comic Signal
I’m happy to announce I have my plans for Free Comic Book Day ironed out. This year, I’m shaking things up and heading out to Grand Rapids! I’m appearing at The Comic Signal on Free Comic Book Day (Saturday, May 5).
I reached out to The Comic Signal about Free Comic Book Day and they were happy to have me join the fun. I will be at The Comic Signal starting at 11 AM on Saturday, May 5. I’m also drawing free head sketches for kids.
It’s also fun to try a new place, especially a local comic book shop I’ve never visited before. Don’t worry, they were highly recommended by one of my Grand Rapids comic buddies, Jason Strutz.
More Appearances to Come?
It is possible I will still add some events here and there. Keep checking my Appearances page for the latest info.
In addition to the REO Town Marketplace Pop Up next month, I’m also returning to the Clinton Macomb Public Library Comic Con. Yep, it’s a comic con at a library! I’m excited to be back, and I’m eager to see how the show grows.
May will be a crazy month: I have Free Comic Book Day, the East Lansing Art Festival, and then Cherry Capital Comic Con. Three events in four weekends. I’m not complaining though!
